It’s now less than two months until 30 June, which is when You Must Bring A Hat will be published! It’s getting rather exciting.
A couple of weeks ago there was a knock on the door and I received two large, quite heavy envelopes from Simon & Schuster – which is always exciting in itself.
Their contents turned out to be four of the co-editions of the book, which for some reason (perhaps I was still half asleep) I totally wasn’t expecting to receive.
Here are the covers of the French, German, Turkish and Slovakian editions of YMBAH – all subtly different but equally striking if I do say so myself:
It was really interesting for me to flick through the different copies and try to spot any differences. The font used is different in a few of the co-editions, but the main difference (along with changes in the names of some of the characters) is in the typography and design used on the various beautifully illustrated/designed signs that appear throughout the story:
There are a couple more co-editions to follow at some point in the future, as well as the final, finished English version, of course. I can’t wait to see them.
